A little about the origin and history of use
The tree on which these fruits grow is common in Central and West Africa. By the way, this tree lives up to several hundred years, and begins to bear fruit only in the 50th year of its life. What is unique about shea butter (karite)?
 Oil, or more precisely, shea butter butter, that is, oil that under normal conditions remains hard, has a pleasant, slightly nutty aroma, and can be white to light cream in color. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it contains up to 17% unsaponifiable fats. These are the fats that will not enter into a chemical reaction with alkali, and accordingly will have a beneficial effect on the skin in soap and cosmetics. 
Why does shea butter soften the skin? 
As you know, not every oil will moisturize or nourish the skin sufficiently; some oils can even dry it out. Due to the rich content of triglycerides of fatty acids in shea butter, this product has high plasticizing properties and penetrates the layer of horny cells.
